BRUNO BRÁS, born in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the parish of Mafamude, on November 19, 1981, showed an early passion for music. He began his musical studies with the encouragement of a friend who taught him the first chords on the classical guitar, then continued as a self-taught musician, learning to play various instruments including the cavaquinho, mandolin, accordion, and keyboards.

Having been involved in various projects ranging from folklore since 1993, to dance groups in 1998, and traditional music groups, it is worth mentioning the "Malapata" project, of which he was the mentor. In 2009, he ventured into pop rock with the "Orquestra Notas D’ouro," the resident orchestra of the Casino da Póvoa do Varzim, and in 2011, he became the musical director and pianist of the Sélvis Prestley and TCB band, a project paying tribute to Elvis Presley. Also in 2011, he began guitar lessons with a guitarist from Porto.

Within a a few months, he transitioned from the Portuguese guitar to the fado accompaniment guitar, developing a great passion for fado and, above all, the art of accompanying fado on the guitar. He honed his skills in fado guitar in renowned fado houses in Porto for almost ten years, before moving to Lisbon where he continued his professional career in renowned fado houses in the capital. He didn't limit himself to playing in Portugal but also performed in various countries around the world including Canada, Cyprus, Turkey, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, and Singapore.

Despite his national and international professional career as a musician, he did not neglect his education. He took private lessons with renowned teachers, attended the jazz school at the Luiz Villas-Boas Jazz School - Hot Club Portugal, in the jazz guitar course, and participated in various combos. In 2020, he attended the Composition Workshop with Pedro Madaleno. During the year 2021, he attended the first year of the Music in the Community course at EseLx. Bruno is a versatile musician who does not limit his career to just one style of music or instrument. Passionate about music, he does not play to live, he lives to play!
